Through publishing, live events, and future literary initiatives, TL Publishing Group strives to become a trusted platform where creativity is nurtured, conversations begin, and stories continue to connect people across generations and communities.

TL Publishing Group exists to build meaningful relationships between writers, readers, and artists through independent publishing, literary events, and creative community initiatives. We believe stories have the power to inspire conversation, foster connection, and leave a lasting impact long after the final page is turned.
In 2010, TL Publishing Group was founded with a vision of creating meaningful spaces where literature, creativity, and community could thrive. From that vision came two sister brands: Torrid Literature Journal, a quarterly literary journal dedicated to publishing emerging and established writers, and Torrid Literature Open Mic, a quarterly live poetry and spoken word event held in Tampa's historic Ybor City.
Together, the journal and the open mic created opportunities for writers to share their work both on the page and on the stage, fostering a creative community built on authenticity, encouragement, and artistic expression.
When the COVID-19 pandemic brought live events to a halt, Torrid Literature Open Mic entered a period of hiatus. While the open mic remains paused, it continues to be an important part of our long-term vision and will return as the next chapter of our literary community.
As the organization continued to grow, Torrid Literature Journal was reimagined and, in 2024, officially rebranded as Ink of Genesis. The new name reflects both fresh beginnings and the enduring power of the written word while honoring the foundation on which the journal was built.
Today, Ink of Genesis continues as an independent quarterly literary journal dedicated to publishing thoughtful poetry, celebrating original visual art, and building lasting relationships between writers and readers. As we look toward the future, we remain committed to expanding opportunities for literary engagement, both in print and, one day again, in person.
